Rembrandt painted the portraits of the two newly weds Marten Soolmans and Oopjen Coppit at the age of twenty-eight in 1634 in Amsterdam. The more than two meters high portraits then remained in private possession for almost 400 years. At the beginning of 2016, the two paintings were bought jointly by the Netherlands and France. Thanks to this exceptional acquisition, the portraits can now be seen for the public forever, alternately in the Rijksmuseum and in the Louvre. On the occasion of the High Society exhibition in the Rijksmuseum, where the paintings were shown together for the first time, Hellen made a beautiful silk scarf.
